| Iodine Regulations
Iodine has been used for the manufacturing of illegal drugs. In order to control its use, Congress passed stricter legislation that was effective on August 1, 2007 (see 21 CFR Parts 1309 and 1310). These laws allow the continued use of iodine for microbiology use, but require all sellers to be registered with Drug Enforcement Agencies and all purchasers to disclose their identification information to acquire this highly regulated chemical.
How does this affect my iodine order?
Hardy Diagnostics complies with all federal iodine regulations by requiring that all customers purchasing regulated iodine products disclose their identification information in order to receive their products. Customers are required to provide a letter authorizing Hardy Diagnostics to sell them the iodine products, send a copy of appropriate identification and a list of authorized purchasing agent(s). Our Iodine Customer Service Representative will provide a sample template of the authorization letter.
